I had to opportunity to design a few templates our clients could choose from when building or updating their sites. This Toyota example quickly became one of the most popular choices for dealers working with Dealer eProcess.

CALL TO ACTION

CTAs above the fold are key for user retention on dealership sites. Having eye catching, easy to interact with CTAs are vital to lead customers deeper into the site.

EYE-CATCHING

Since internal search and vehicle pages are packed with information, the homepage is a place to embrace negative space, and let the user easily find what they’re interested in before diving deeper.

MOBILE FRIENDLY

The majority of customers visit sites on their phones, even if they end up using a computer to complete their purchase. Having the key features the customer needs right at the top in large clickable areas creates a user-friendly approach

Widgets

Most dealer sites are built around prebuilt widgets that are restyled for each template to provide variety. Layouts must be designed in a manner that allowed clients to request rearranging widgets higher or lower on the site.

A quick and easy way for users to view available models. Typically, a dealerships most popular vehicles would be displayed by default, with the ability for users to filter for what they’re looking for

Often used for limited time offers, new vehicles in stock, and service specials.

TESTIMONIALS

Customer testimonials pulled into the dealerships site from across the web to showcase positive reception and customer experiences.

Group Sites

Sites for dealer groups have more specialized needs than regular dealership sites. Oftentimes these sites will serve to give the user more information about the group, while also having opportunities to lead the customer to a specific dealership near them.

Unique Features

Informational sections are needed to inform the user more about the dealer group itself. Widgets such as the vehicle searches and CTA’s must be adapted to let a user see all vehicles within the dealer group, or find a dealership for a specific manufacturer.
